Beautiful home!! Great location!!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barntucket! The home was so inviting and cozy and offered plenty of space for our annual mothers & daughters trip. Town, Steps and Jetties beach were all within walking distance. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for a meal at home or a bbq on the lovely patio. The set up of the home is perfect for big families with a second kitchen and family room on the upper level. We will definitely be coming back! We would highly recommend staying at Barntucket!

Warm, comfortable. A home away from home.
Fantastic. Children and Grandchildren occupy second-floor with full amenities while family events happen on the first floor where the grandparents stay, Everything is close. Shopping and restaurants in walking distance. Relaxation personified.

Barntucket: A warm, inviting and comfortable home to spend our biennial family reunion
Our family came from (literally) around the world to meet for a 2-week summer vacation in Nantucket. We loved our time at Barntucket and would highly recommend this property to others.
Here’s why:
1) The house is in a great location – walking distance to the beach and downtown (about 10 minutes) but far enough away to be out of the fray
2) The property is beautifully landscaped – -lots of shade in the backyard, tons of Nantucket’s finest hydrangeas and other flowering shrubs….just gorgeous. The patio area sports a large gas grill and picnic table for outdoor dining
3) We spent quite a few nights cooking family dinners and loved the open (and well-stocked) kitchen and extra large dining room which comfortably accommodated our entire brood
4) It was really nice having so many bedrooms and bathrooms, the two floors, etc. Always good to be together but also enough space for some privacy. We were in Nantucket during two record-hot weeks and the house was always cool and comfortable. This was especially welcoming after our long bike rides to/from Sconset, Wauwinet, and Madaket!
5) Though we all tried to unplug from work – it was extremely helpful to have consistent WIFI/internet access (when needed).
We have lots of great memories from our time at Barntucket and will definitely call if we plan to return to Nantucket on a future vacation.

Barntucket is a treasure! It is an exquisite home full of art and antiques yet the feel is relaxed
Our family of ten, ranging from a one year old to seventy-two years young had a delightful vacation on Nantucket. Our “home away from home”, Barntucket was everything I hoped it would be, and more! Three generations and three cooks under one roof can be a challenging situation- I think because of the vastness of the space of Barntucket and the gourmet kitchen we just delighted in each others company! Barntucket is a cozy home in spite of its size.
It is always my goal when choosing a vacation home to have a spot we can gather comfortably for meals. Morning and night we enjoyed our meals at that wonderful dining room table, we celebrated three birthdays, all the more special, because of where we were. Depending on the evening temperatures we played games on the screened porch or around the table, we loved all the games and puzzles tucked away in the old drawers and cupboards.
Although we have visited Nantucket many times over the years we have never had a family gathering in town. The location of Barntucket is PRIME for walking to town and enjoying all the beaches along Cliff Road and going to Something Natural on a whim.
I think the last weeks in June is a fabulous time on Nantucket. We had plenty of beach days, the island is not overly crowded and does not have “tired” feeling I have noticed on late summer visits.
As grandmother myself, I live by my own grandmother’s adage, “Why would I go anywhere that is not as nice or nicer than home?” I found my spot, Barntucket.

Stress seems to melt away
Visiting Nantucket always feels like a delicious escape. Staying in Barntucket takes that feeling to the max. Working like crazy with two young girls we seek a good balance of relaxation and fun. From the moment you walk in the door until you hit the comfy beds at night, this place is Zen. It’s loaded with everything you need to be cozy, to cook great meals, to lounge outside or relax on the porch, to walk or ride bikes (highly recommended) to the beach or down town. The girls (6 and 10) love everything about the house – the climbing tree out back, the hide and seek possibilities, the huge farmer’s table that’s as perfect for crafts and games as it is for gathering a group for dinner. The landscaping and gardening is a passion of his making it one of the most charming properties on the island. We just can’t say enough about how much we enjoy our annual visit. As soon as we’re home to NH, we talk about the next trip!

Wonderful, spacious, homey place so convenient to Town, Steps Beach
Barntucket is one of our favorite spots to vacation! Our family always wants to come back to this home. This charming historic home is quite spacious with plenty of rooms to accommodate a large family. The kitchen is fully stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils and cooking vessels as well as many gadgets for any cook. Not to mention the outdoor patio with large grill. It is located within walking distance to Town, Steps Beach, and bike paths. We love this home and would definitely come back!

Ambiance and Charm of “Old World Nantucket.”
Barntucket has the ambiance and charm of “Old World Nantucket.” You feel like your own little oasis with the back porch, and wonderful backyard. The house has so much warmth and charm, that you feel like it is your own summer cottage. There are very few places I visit, that I feel like the welcome mat is always extended. Barntucket is one of those places that hold such familiarity. I can’t wait to return.

Coming Home
Breathtaking !!!
Our extended family has been coming to Nantucket for decades and staying at Barntucket. It’s the funkiest, greatest old carriage barn we have ever seen/experienced ! As young kids we would often play ‘hide and seek’ and crawl into all the nooks and crannies throughout. Barntucket is very close to the Nantucket Sound beaches and down town. We now have grand children and They too enjoy the Nantucket lifestyle. See you next year.

The epitome of what Nantucket is all about. Centrally located. Beautiful, warm and relaxing.
Gorgeous & Comfortable and so Unique!
Our group went to Nantucket for a 60th birthday party! We stayed at Barntucket!! What a delightful home!! All the woodwork, the antiques and the fireplaces are gorgeous! And in the evening it just glows!! It looks just like the pictures! The location is close enough to town to walk or bike yet far enough away to be very very peaceful. We will most definitely be back at Barntucket again!

Wonderful antique Nantucket barn turned into a charming house!
My multiple generation family of 8 stayed in Barntucket all of July. It was a charming, well stocked house, with a great assortment of bed room options! My handicapped mother stayed in the en suite king bedroom on the first floor and we rented a ramp for her wheelchair to go up the two steps to get into the house at the front door. That worked perfectly ! Our grand daughter slept in a rented crib, but the house had a high chair for a baby. The upstairs kitchen was an asset for the baby feedings… The outside shower is divine! The washer and dryer were convenient! There is a lovely area on the side of the house near the kitchen for meals and quiet reading in lounge chairs. We had a brand new fabulous grill ! We were supplied with plenty of towels ,sheets, beach chairs and a beach umbrella. The location is perfect. It is less than a mile from the center of town, but there is plenty of available parking on the side streets if if you need spaces for more an two cars. It is a short walk from Steps Beach in a lovely upper Cliff Road neighborhood . We loved it and would stay there again!
